FAQs:

  • What info do I need to book a repair?

Please have your make & model number to hand. This can normally be found on a sticker somewhere around the door seal.

Once I know these details, your area & the exact fault I can give you an all in fixed price quote.

  • What if my oven can't be repaired?

If I attend & your oven cannot be repaired there is absolutely no charge.

There are never any hidden charges - the price I quote is always the price charged only if I can fix your oven.

  • How long is your guarantee?

OvenFix is the only oven repair company to offer a FULL 2 YEAR parts & labour guarantee on most repairs (depending on make, model & fault).

I will advise the length of the guarantee on your quote.

  • How long should my repair last?

Because I only fit genuine manufacturer parts you should have a long life repair.

Beware of the vast number of companies that only fit cheap pattern parts which have a much shorter life.

  • What happens on the day of my repair?

We will agree a time slot when you book your repair & I will text you with a firm arrival time when I am en route.

I will need somwhere close to your property to park. I include any parking charges for free, however if it is permit parking only please have one available (or you can watch my van while I do the repair).

I will leave my work area clean & tidy once the repair is completed & email you a detailed invoice / guarantee.

Please ensure any pets & children are kept out of the way during my visit.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

I only ask for payment once the job is completed, your oven is tested & working, and you are completely satisfied.

I accept all major debit & credit cards, Apple & Google pay, cash, cheque, bank transfer & PayPal.

  • Do you charge for subsequent visits?

    No.

The price quoted is the price charged regardless of time / visits needed to fix the problem.

99% of repairs are completed in a single visit.

  • What are your qualifications?

I am a fully qualified electrical engineer. This is not to be confused with those who say they are “highly trained”.

You may be shocked to know that there is no legal requirement for appliance engineers to be qualified in the UK.

Most “engineers” have no formal qualifications to work on electrics.

I spent 3 years at Carshalton College & passed the following NVQ courses with distinction:

    CITY & GUILDS 2350 & 2360.

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION THEORY & PRACTICE PART 1&2.

    (202) INSTALLATION, COMMISSIONING & FAULT DIAGNOSIS.

    (203) ELECTRICAL SCIENCE & PRINCIPLES.

    (103) ASSOCIATED ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY.
